The study of shallow waters, their environmental and archaeological characteristics, their conservation and enhancement, governance and future potential. These are some of the topics to be covered at the national workshop “Knowledge and the Future of Shallow Waters”, which will take place at the University of Udine on Friday 20 March at 9.30 am in the Pasolini Lecture Theatre at Palazzo di Toppo Wassermann (Via Gemona 92, Udine). The conference on shallow waters is organised by the University in collaboration with the Italian Navy and the Futuri Probabili Association. Scientific coordination is provided by Massimo Capulli and Gian Luca Foresti, lecturers at the University of Udine.
Opening remarks will be given by: the rector, Angelo Montanari; the regional councillor for employment, training, education, research, universities and family affairs, Alessia Rosolen; the mayor of Udine, Alberto Felice De Toni; and the superintendent of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for Friuli Venezia Giulia, Paola Ventura. The proceedings will be introduced by the presidents of the Futuri Probabili Association, Luciano Violante, and of the National Diving Centre Foundation, Roberta Pinotti.
