Among the new talents at the University of Friuli, 12% of whom graduated abroad, 19 belong to the economic-legal field, 12 to the humanities and 68 to the medical-scientific field. Each year, the authors of the best doctoral theses in the six scientific areas of the University’s courses are also awarded a prize worth €1,500. This time, given the high standard of the work, two additional prizes were awarded in addition to the traditional six. A PhD is the third level of university education, after a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree. It prepares students for research and highly specialised work in universities and public and private institutions and lasts a minimum of three years.
