Signed a Scientific Cooperation agreement with the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (B)

The Fondazione Italiana Fegato ETS (FIF) and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), a public university in Brazil represented by its Rector, Márcia Cristina Bernardes Barbosa, have signed a General Protocol for Scientific Cooperation aimed at developing joint activities in research, education, and academic exchange.

“The agreement provides for collaboration in areas of common interest,” explained Claudio Tiribelli, President of the Fondazione Italiana Fegato ETS, “through the exchange of professors, researchers, students, and technical-administrative staff, participation in research and scientific dissemination programs, as well as the sharing of information, documentation, and technologies. Planned activities also include the development of joint research projects, scientific publications, and the organization of seminars, meetings, and workshops.”

The protocol, which has a duration of five years and will be implemented through specific agreements defining programs, operational procedures, and resources, is part of the international collaborations already established by the Fondazione Italiana Fegato ETS with academic institutions in Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Palestine, with the aim of promoting scientific cooperation and researcher mobility.

“For many years, the Foundation has operated within an international framework,” concluded Prof. Tiribelli, “developing research, education, and capacity-building projects in collaboration with academic and institutional partners across different geographical contexts, with particular attention to global health and liver diseases.”
