A New Institutional Phase: Scientific Continuity and a Stronger Social Role
The Fondazione Italiana Fegato (Italian Liver Foundation – E.T.S.) announces its registration in the National Single Register of the Third Sector (RUNTS), under the section “Other Third Sector Entities”, formalized by decree of the Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia no. 19536/GRFVG of April 14, 2026.
The transition from ONLUS to Third Sector Entity (ETS) represents a natural evolution within the framework of the Third Sector reform and enables the Foundation to continue its mission with continuity and renewed effectiveness: promoting scientific research, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of liver and biliary diseases, alongside educational, outreach, and support activities.
As part of this transition, the Plenary Assembly, held on April 30, 2026, renewed the Foundation’s governing bodies for the next three-year term, in accordance with the Statute. The following appointments were made: Professor Claudio Tiribelli as President, designated by the Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia; Professor Giorgio Soardo as Vice President; Dr. Diego Antonini, Mr. Rino Dario, and Ms. Silvia Russo as members of the Management Board. The Assembly also appointed Dr. Roberta Boscarol as Sole Auditor and the Scientific Committee, chaired by Dr. Stefano Bellentani.
“Registration in the RUNTS marks a strategic milestone for the Foundation, strengthening our commitment to transparency, accountability, and social impact,” stated President Claudio Tiribelli. “We will continue to work with determination in support of patients and the scientific community, ensuring continuity, expertise, and full operational capacity in this new phase of the Foundation.”
