Area Science Park is the subject entrusted with the operational coordination of SIS FVG for the attainment of the objectives set under the Agreement on the creation of the Scientific and Innovation System of Friuli Venezia Giulia (SiS FVG). The following services aim, in particular, at promoting the internationalisation of the regional system, the mobility of human capital and the dissemintaion of knowledge.

WELCOME OFFICE FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA

It is the regional one-stop-shop for international students and researchers coming in the region. It offers personalized support on mobility-related issues, on getting information and assistance before and upon arrival through two helpdesks in Trieste, at Area Science Park, and Udine, at the University.

The Office provides support in tackling with administrative formalities related to the stay of foreign students and researchers (visa, residence permit, etc.). It also give information and advise on health care, family issues and daily life.

It is manageg by Area Science Park in collaboratin with the regional universities and SiS partners.

EURAXESS CENTRES

EURAXESS - Researchers in Motion is a pan-European initiative delivering information and support services to professional researchers. It is a network of more than 500 Service Centres located in 40 European countries. Dedicated teams are also present worldwide. In Italy there are 15 EURAXESS Centers supporting researchers coming to the country or willing to go abroad.

Friuli Venezia Giulia region hosts 2 Centers, one in Trieste, at Area Science Park, and one in Udine, at the University

APRE HELPDESKS

APRE - Agency for the Promotion of European Research, is a national no-profit association providing information, training and assistance to companies, public and private institutes and people interested in participating in the Programs of Research, Development and Technological Innovation at national and european level (e.g. Horizon Europe).

APRE operates through a network of Helpdesks, including one in Trieste, at Area Science Park, and one in Udine, at Friuli Innovazione .

Members of APRE regional committee are: Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, ICGEB, ICTP, OGS, SISSA, University of Trieste and University of Udine.

APRE Helpdesks offer the following services:

  • Information on funding opportunities, on opportunities of existing scientific and technological cooperation at European level and on the results of the research community;
  • Trainings to improve the capacity of the interested actors to present winning projects;
  • Support to companies, universities, research centers and other organizations interested in participating in European Research and Innovation Programs.

THE “MOBILITY OF KNOWLEDGE” SURVEY

In order to monitor the attractiveness of the regional Scientific System, SiS FVG annually promotes “The Mobility of Knowledge” survey on the incoming and outgoing flows of students, researchers and scientists of the research centers of the region.

The Survey is also aimed at identifying and sharing good practices in human resources development and in the mobility management.
