Antonio De Simone, Secretary General of CISM and Professor of Structural Mechanics, has been elected a member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, one of Italy’s most prestigious scientific institutions and one of the oldest scientific academies in the world.
Founded in 1603, the Accademia dei Lincei plays a leading role in promoting knowledge and advancing science and culture.
Members of the Academy are elected through a rigorous selection process based on the excellence of their scientific and academic achievements.
The appointment represents an important recognition of Professor De Simone’s scientific career and, in particular, of his pioneering contributions to the development of microrobots for non-invasive medical therapies and artificial muscles, as well as of his broader contribution to research and the international academic community.
