The Scientific and Innovation System of Friuli Venezia Giulia is expanding with the arrival of four new organisations in the regional research and innovation landscape. Their entry reflects a strong commitment to structured collaboration and enhances the synergy among local actors, with the dual aim of mutual enrichment and a stronger, more cohesive system.
The newcomers are the Italian Liver Foundation (FIF), the Trieste International Foundation for the Progress and Freedom of Sciences (FIT), the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), and the International Centre for Mechanical Sciences (CISM). Having recently expressed their intention to join the System, their applications were unanimously approved during the latest meeting of the SiS FVG Steering Council, whose members warmly welcomed this enlargement. While their official inclusion in the Programme Agreement is scheduled for the 2026 planning cycle, the four institutions are already taking part in the activities set out in the current Operational Plan—particularly in communication initiatives, participation in events, and the promotion of joint projects.
Their integration into the Scientific and Innovation System represents a significant step in consolidating Friuli Venezia Giulia’s standing as a national and international reference point for scientific research and innovation.
