AIRC Funding Awarded to ICGEB Trieste for Cervical Cancer Research

Dr. Lawrence Banks, ICGEB General-Director, and his Tumour Virology Laboratory at ICGEB Trieste have secured five-year funding from the AIRC Foundation for Cancer Research in Italy for their project “Identification of novel therapeutic approaches for Cervical Cancer”. The study investigates how HPV proteins E6 and E7 drive tumour development, advancing research toward therapies that target phosphorylation-dependent interactions critical to HPV-induced cancer progression.
